Below we have a list of all the vacations we have been on since we met each other. They are ordered by year and you can click the name of the vacation to read more about it.
2005 Six Flags 2005 This was pretty much our first vacation, kinda. Kelly and I had just started dating when we decided to visit the Six Flags, New Orleans theme park with my brother and his girlfriend. This is not really considered a vacation since we only stayed one day, so this can be our getaway. My brother Chris, his girlfriend (I can't remember her name....lol),Kelly, and myself packed up some food and essential vacation goods and began our long trip to New Orleans. Well, not really that long, but since I was only 18 that was the longest I have ever driven. So...anywhooo..back to the story, after making an evasive uturn because I had missed the exit with the extra large sign pointing the direction of the ...Read More
2006 None No vacations this year. We bought a house.
2007 Miami Beach 2007 This vacation was not all for fun and games....we had to go to Miami to do some paperwork for Kelly, but we managed to snap a few pictures on the beach and the local city surrounding the beach. This was the first time I had seen true blue water. The water was wonderful and I couldn't wait to dive in. Kelly and I bought some snorkels and swam out trying to find cool shells. This was the best way to spend your time waiting for paperwork to process.
For this trip we took a flight to Fort Lauderdale (since it was actually cheaper to fly there and get a rental car then to fly straight to Miami). We rented a PT Cruiser and drove the short trip to Miami. We cruised the highway along the beac...Read More
2008 Disney World 2008 Disney World, the greatest place on earth. This trip was Kelly's first visit to Disney and my third. We left late at night the day before we had to be there. Kelly drove the first four hours and I took over once we got into Florida. We actually had fun driving there since we had about eight hours or so to talk and enjoy each other's company. We stopped for gas only once on the way there (I love my 4 cylinder Cobalt). We began to get close to Disney World around 10am, any sleepiness we had quickly disappeared when we saw the signs leading into the park.
We ran up to the front desk and informed then it was our wedding anniversary. They were very happy for us and gave us pins to let eve...Read More
New Orleans 2008 Kelly's birthday was the "special occasion" I needed to get a trip to New Orleans arranged. I called a few days before and made the reservations without even calling Kelly to tell her the good news. After I arranged everything with the hotel I called Kelly's business and made even more arrangements to get her the weekend off. She arrived home Firday night about 8pm and we took off. It was hard to keep the secret vacation hidden from her since she was asking a million questions about the trip. I tried to keep her busy so she wouldn't notice the road signs, but she was curious. After painstakingly keeping her from realizing where we were going we arrived at 555 Canal St. She was amazed that I ...Read More
Pensacola Beach 2008 This was not really a vacation, but more of a getaway for the day. We needed to go swimming and I had heard Pensacola Beach had beautiful water and clean beaches. The rumors are true. Even though the water was not blue like I had heard it was a teal blue / green color. We woke early in the morning and packed a quick lunch (BLTs....my favorite) and some beer. We drove the two hours toward Florida and after getting lost once again (this time it was Yahoo maps fault) we finally arrived at the beach. Clouds looked kinda gloomy and we did not care. We drove there anyway.
We arrived after about two hours of driving and setup our little picnic. We ate our BLTs that I made in the morning (...Read More
2009 Peru 2009 This was my first trip out of the country and what better place to go then to Kelly's country...Peru. If you ever want to visit a foreign country I highly recommend Peru. The country is beautiful and the people are friendly. Some try to take advantage of Americans, but luckily I had Kelly to weed those few people out.
First off let me tell you about the total price of the trip...including the flight, and expenses while over there. This was an issue for us becuase we underestimated how much we would spend in two weeks.
The flight itself was $1600.00 at the time of this article. Since we stayed with Kellys parents we did not have to pay for a hotel...which saved us alot of ...Read More
Sky Diving 2009 Now before this whole story starts I want you to remember that I am deathly afraid of heights and Kelly is deathly afraid of going really fast...so sky diving was naturally our first choice as an new event to do...lol. Let me start at the beginning.
Kelly called me oneday while I was at work and told me she found the perfect actitivy for us to do while we were not on vacation. She pointed me to a website for Gold Coast Sky Divers in Lumberton, MS. I got the site and called her right back and told her "HELL NO!" First of all I am scared of heights and she is scared of moving fast, but her argument was that we should try new things even if they scare us....which at the moment soun...Read More
