Our Miami Beach 2007 Vacation

Vacation Photos
This vacation was not all for fun and games....we had to go to Miami to do some paperwork for Kelly, but we managed to snap a few pictures on the beach and the local city surrounding the beach. This was the first time I had seen true blue water. The water was wonderful and I couldn't wait to dive in. Kelly and I bought some snorkels and swam out trying to find cool shells. This was the best way to spend your time waiting for paperwork to process.

For this trip we took a flight to Fort Lauderdale (since it was actually cheaper to fly there and get a rental car then to fly straight to Miami). We rented a PT Cruiser and drove the short trip to Miami. We cruised the highway along the beach and became completely engulfed in the ocean view. The sounds and sights of the city were amazing, for me anyways since it was the first big city I had ever been to.

We stopped off for lunch in a geniune Peruvian restaurant, something Kelly had not done since she moved from Peru. We ordered almost everything on the menu. The food was amazing, even the Ceviche, a food consisting of raw fish with lemon, onion, and cilantro. The "raw" fish is actually cooked by the lemon juice so its not technically raw. We downed some Inca Cola and proceeded to go shopping.

We parked the car and paid the fee (the one thing I hate about cities is the parking fees), then we were off to explore. We went to the local shops and bought some tourist souvenirs then headed to an exotic pet store. This pet store was cool...they had animals I had never seen before. After Kelly begging me for a while about buying a Ferret..lol..we left the store empty-handed.

We spent the rest of the afternoon swimming at the most beautiful beach I had ever been on. The water was cool and crystal clear. Kelly and I decided to take some funny pictures so we buried each other and made funny designs. After playing in the sand we hit the water with full snorkel gear. We didn't really need the snorkels since the water was already clear, but it helped with the view. The waves were huge, sometimes knocking me back and making me grab Kelly to prevent her from floating away.

After washing the sand from my shorts and my butt we went back to the Peruvian restaurant and had supper before we went to the mall. We shopped in the extremely huge mall trying to look at everything in every store before we called it a night. Once it was dark we drove the 25 minutes back to the hotel room and crashed for the night.

The next morning we loaded the car, picked up all of Kelly's paperwork, and headed back to the airport. On our way we decided to go to a museum that was a few minutes from the airport since our flight wasn't for another 2 hours. The museum was pretty cool as well. We took a few snap shots outside (after paying another parking fee) before we went inside. Went look at stuff from the jungle, the sea, space, and stuff dealing with science. They had a really cool volleyball simulator there that allowed you to see yourself playing on a 3D screen. You could hit the ball back and forth, even though it was all on a screen and there was not physical ball. That was cool.

After our quick learning experience we finally trodded back to the airport and began our journey back home.
